Position Summary:
Providing initial and on-going education, training and consultation to external and internal consumers supporting individuals with autism. You will participate in identifying training needs with consumers, develop curriculum and materials and deliver training in structured group, individualized and on-the-job training and consultation. Services rely on evidence-based interventions in the areas of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and developmental disabilities; Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA); Positive Behavior Support (PBS); Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT); Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT); Early Start Denver Model (ESDM); and best practices to support inclusion in community enrichment programs.
 
Essential Job Duties:
 
  • Serve as primary trainer for internal staff training
  • Serve as secondary trainer for consumers contracting any level of service including families receiving consultation services, other autism service providers that may include BCBA’s, allied professionals, educators, and community enrichment programs.
  • May travel in-state and out-of-state to provide contracted training services.
  • Builds presentation and content for trainings.
  • Develops materials and activities to educate and train consumers.
  • Identify appropriate service and location.
  • Evaluate training needs and conduct any relevant assessment to develop training and treatment plans and specify follow-up training and consultation to support plan.
  • Coordinate with administrative support to develop written service proposals to obtain signed service agreement.
  • Coordinate with contracted consumer to schedule and render service.
  • Attends clinical supervision meetings, 1:1, all staff, and all other related meetings.
Education:
  • MA degree in ABA, psychology, education, special education, sociology or related field.
 
Experience:
  • Three to five years with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD); Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA); Positive Behavior Support (PBS); Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT); Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT); Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS); and work in schools and community based enrichment programs.
 
Certification Required:
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) eligible for licensure
 
Skills:
  • Able to demonstrate exceptional clinical skills with children with autism spectrum disorders, including extensive training in applied behavior analysis (ABA), functional behavior assessment (FBA), Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), and Positive Behavior Support (PBS).
  • Able to demonstrate proficiency in behavioral skills training and provide effective feedback.
  • Able to support implementation in natural settings and environments such as in a classroom, clinic setting or community setting such as summer camp or an after school program.
  • Able to conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and provide function-based behavioral support.
  • Able to develop training materials.
  • Able to establish data collection systems to monitor performance.
  • Able to establish data collection systems to be used by school or community enrichment programs.
  • Able to adapt and modify training curriculum based on consumer.
  • Able to coordinate with external customers.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Able to work collaboratively with external customers, team and clinical manager.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products.
  • Able to learn standardized assessments evaluating cognitive abilities, social skills, adaptive behavior and academic achievement.
  • Excellent oral skills, including public speaking, and written communication skills.
