Project Controls Engineer
Description/Job Summary
Controls Engineer with a project specific focus for on-time delivery of customer applications, with penchant for problem solving and decreasing waste. Open to limited travel to local customers and global engineering centers. Willing to review the entire electro-mechanical system as a whole and understand the value and basic function of each piece.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Electrical & pneumatic design and documentation of projects
- Releasing standard and locally procured products for projects
- Programming of internal and external devices including PLC’s, HMI’s, servo drives, and robots
- Understanding and applying customer’s electrical specifications / communication protocols
- Supporting service resources to identify root cause and corrective action plans as required
- Perform acceptance testing of products and projects to industry standard techniques
- PLC programming languages [Structured Text, Ladder Logic, Function Block] especially within IEC 61131-3 editor
- HMI design and implementation [WinCC Flexible, RSView, CoDeSys Visualization]
- Industrial fieldbus communication standards [ProfiNet, EtherNET/IP, DeviceNET, Modbus, IO-Link]
- Fluid power systems design and allocation [Pneumatic, Hydraulic – load and component selection]
- Robot programming experience preferred [Fanuc, Kawasaki, Janome, ABB, Kuka, etc
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Automation Engineering or minimum 3 years related experience and/or training.
