Undergrad Internship - QA Tester - UAT

Position Summary:

Under Client Services, the Testing Center of Excellence business unit evolves delivering accuracy through various testing methodologies. You will learn from a diversified team culture, with narrow focus towards process improvement through automation as automation testing is a large aspect of our department . The TCOE team is responsible for testing quality and accuracy for our PBM, Health Plan, individual, and EGWP lines of business. This responsibility spans from Eligibility through Claim Adjudication. Testing is done to prevent defects from entering the Production environment. Testing activities are cross functional as well as coordinated across departments and include business owners, business users, IT,and systems support. When changes are introduced as part of the SDLC, those changes are thoroughly tested to ensure all stated requirements are met. This includes both functional and non-functional requirements.

During your time as an intern, you will work on a project focused on process improvement within our client services. Some of your responsibilities in this project will include:

- Project Summary & Duration
- Document the testing process and tools
- Hands-on with testing and using tools
- Identifying "what" improvement is needed
- Deliberate with peers on the improvements
- Calibrating improvements with leaders for approval
- Create documents on the new process and job aids
- Capture metrics

Required Qualifications:
- Availability to work full time for duration of the 10 week program.
- Analytical skills
- Experience with root cause and remediation
- Basic coding experience
- Ability to research, analyze and interpret rules and regulations, then apply them to current P&P
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) principles, practices and procedures
- Ability to query back end database using SQL commands
- Basic understanding of Healthcare
- Basic understanding of Federal and State agencies (CMS) and their role in Healthcare


Preferred Qualifications:
- Automation and Process knowledge with high degree of passion towards defect detection
- Excellent communication (Verbal and Written) and collaboration skills
- Courteous and professional demeanor with the desire and ability to work as a team
- Strategic, forward thinkers with sound technical and analytical abilities
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Power Point and Access
- Superior organization and prioritization skills


Education:
- Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at a 4 year college or university and entering their senior year in fall of 2018
