Corporate Entrepreneurship Internship Program

About The Program

The Internship is designed specifically for highly talented MBA students who have a strong desire to stretch their abilities and enhance their leadership potential. The Internship provides exposure to Lubrizol leaders and business opportunities where you can make significant contributions to the company.

The New Business Development Department is new to Lubrizol. The small team is taking on a huge goal – organic growth with high profit targets, via adjacent and brand new markets for our developing and/or brand new products. The MBA in this position will have to be very analytical AND have the ability to think strategically and creatively. This is an extremely intelligent, energetic team and they are very excited to bring in an MBA to help them “change the world”.

Certainly a lot to accomplish in 12 weeks, but that is why we will set you up for success:

Program Assignments and Project Responsibilities
The Internship is a summer assignment designed to give you an understanding of Lubrizol Additives (LZA), as well as the opportunity to develop and demonstrate your functional marketing expertise. During your assignment, you will work on a real business projects(s) focused on achieving value growth through strategic opportunity assessment or market development. Intern assignments are designed to be instructive, will reflect a balance of tactical work and strategic initiatives, and will give you a perspective of our global businesses. Assignments will depend on existing business needs and could include:

• Segmenting target markets based on both B2B customer and end-user / consumer trends and needs
• Identifying strategic options and actions in selected market segments
• Conducting and analyzing market research to assess feasibility of a new product or business
• Creating pre- and post-launch promotional materials, sales training and pricing strategy
• Developing business cases and supporting recommendations for new product development
• Developing and testing of product positioning, sales messages and sales tools on a
  national or global scale

Candidate Qualifications
We are looking for high potential MBA students who are intellectually curious, have personal drive and a passion for entrepreneurship, marketing, innovation, and leadership. Requirements are:

• Completed first year of MBA program
• Solid record of academic achievement
• Ability to think creatively and strategically
• Desire to lead, innovate, and collaborate
• Mobile
• Demonstrated relevant professional work experience (three+ years preferred)
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
